The state of Pennsylvania defines an enterprise as an individual, organization or business entity that pays wages to employees, offers services and products for sale, collects taxes and donations and has a name that is to be used in economic activity. The process to register your enterprise will require you to fill out an Application for Enterprise Registration. Although the form itself is rather long (22 sections total), you may be able to skip any sections that do not apply to you.

One of the most important aspects of the application is entering information about the enterprise, as well as stating the taxes and services you would like to request. When noting details about your enterprise, make sure that you fully mention the following:

  • The legal name of the enterprise
  • The trade name of the enterprise, if it differs from the legal name
  • The physical location of the enterprise, along with the mailing address
  • The daytime phone number of the enterprise
  • The establishment name

As you are filling out the application, other sections will require you to enter details about what is listed below:

  • Owners and officers responsible party information
  • Business structure and government structure information
  • Unemployment compensation partial transfer information
  • Corporation information
  • Predecessor/successor information
  • Multiple establishment information
  • Establishment employment information
  • Bulk sale/transfer information
  • Reporting and payment methods
