By law, residents who own a boat in the state of Pennsylvania are required to have it properly registered and titled. To begin the steps of completing registration, you must fill out an Application for PA Boat Registration and/or Boat Title. The form is divided in to two mains sections: owner information and boat description.
Required Information For the first section, you must include details about yourself, such as your mailing address, email address, date of birth and daytime phone number. If you have a co-buyer who also purchased the boat, he or she must also fill out the same information. When entering data about your boat, you will need to include the Hull Identification Number (HIN), the make of the boat, the model name, the model year and the boat length.
Additional documents to send When submitting your application, it is mandatory to also show proof of ownership, such as your boat title. Payment for any necessary registration fees will also be made at this time. Boat registration fees are issued on a two-year basis. The cost varies, but it largely depends on the size of your boat and whether or not it has a motor. The standard titling fee, however, is $15. This amount is subject to change without any prior notification, therefore considering contacting the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Licensing and Registration Section for the current exact fee.
Mail-in Process Upon filling out the Application for Pennsylvania Boat Registration and/or Boat Title, along with proper payment and proof of ownership, you will then be ready to turn in all your paperwork. Send all of these aforementioned items to the address below:
